Cathodic protection systems are dynamic systems that use electrical current to control corrosion. According to the existing standards there are different methods for evaluating level of cathodic protection&nbsp; and coverings underground metal pipes.&nbsp; One of the most practical methods is the close interval potential survey (CIPS).The efficiency of this method is very dependent on the quality of measuring parameter during the inspection.&nbsp; &nbsp;minimising all the error source , either during the inspection or when interpreting&nbsp; the data is vital. In this research CIPS method is analyzed and by optimizing synchronization of&nbsp; the Interrupter devices&nbsp; to decrease the errors during the CIPS test, in evaluating of cothodic&nbsp; protection level and covering&nbsp; the gas transmission underground metal pipes &nbsp;provides a significant improvement.</p> Majid Nosouhi, Mohsen Ashourian, Hamid Nazemi ##submission.copyrightStatement## Sun, 01 Dec 2019 00:00:00 +0000 Enhancing the Quality of Satellite Images Enhancing through Combination of Feature and Pixel Level Image Fusion <p>Up to now, several methods have been proposed for image fusion in pixel level and feature level for quality enhancement of satellite images. From these methods, methods based on discrete wavelet transform (DWT); intensity hue saturation (IHS); and high pass filtering have attracted much attention. But in methods based on; intensity hue saturation and discrete wavelet transform each have disadvantages such as chromatic aberration and linear discontinuity of location characteristics. The present article proposed a new and effective method for fusion in pixel and feature level and by combining the mentioned methods intelligently; the new proposed method maintains the significant and salient characteristics of input images and simultaneously overcomes the mentioned weaknesses. Results are product of experiments evidencing this claim</p> Mahnaz zarei, Mansour Esmaeilpour ##submission.copyrightStatement## Sun, 01 Dec 2019 00:00:00 +0000 High Resolution Nano Temperature Sensor Based on Two-Dimensional Photonic Crystal <p>In this paper, we designed a two-dimensional photonic crystal measurement nano-sensor with an octagonal ring resonator. This nano-sensor is designed using circular silicon rods in a rectangular lattice with a lattice constant of 820 nm, to detect temperatures from 0 ° C to 540 ° C. Photonic band gap was calculated by PWE method and the sensor operating parameters such as sensitivity, transmission efficiency, and quality factor were calculated by FDTD method. As the temperature increases, the resonance wavelength changes to a higher wavelength. The designed photonic crystal nano-sensor works at the resonance wavelength λ = 1733 nm and with the TE polarization. The maximum transmission efficiency, quality factor, and sensitivity are 100%, 582.66, and 33.33 pm/°C, respectively. This nano temperature sensor, designed to work in the nanoscale, can sense the slightest temperature change, so it is well suited for critical and sensitive nanotechnology systems.</p> Pardis Kazemi Esfeh, Zahra Alaei ##submission.copyrightStatement## Sun, 01 Dec 2019 00:00:00 +0000 Design and Simulation of a Dual-Mode Resonant Temperature sensor Based on MEMS Technology <p>In this paper, a dual-mode (DM) micromechanical elliptical ring resonator for use in temperature sensing is reported. The proposed resonator is made of single crystal silicon and works based on beat frequency (<em>fb</em>). In the designed sensor, temperature coefficient of beat frequency (TC<em>fb</em>) will be increased significantly by minimizing the <em>fb</em> and provides better temperature sensitivity. This proposed device was designed and simulated by COMSOL Multyphysics software. By engineering the device geometry, we introduce two adjacent resonant frequencies which produce very small <em>fb</em> in the range of 2 kHz. The device shows TC<em>f</em>1 of about 44 ppm/ºC and TC<em>f</em>2 of 5 ppm/ºC. Combination of small <em>fb</em> and large ΔTC<em>f</em>, present temperature coefficient of beat frequency (TC<em>fb</em>) about 112000 ppm/ºC which has approximately 75&nbsp;improvement in TC<em>fb</em> compared to previous demonstrated DM resonators.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> Elham Farzanegan, Farshad Babazadeh ##submission.copyrightStatement## Sun, 01 Dec 2019 00:00:00 +0000 Efficient Modified-LEACH Protocol for Enhancing WSNs’ Lifetime <p><br>Obviously, it is inefficient and pretty impossible to replace or recharge batteries of sensor nodes (SN) in a vast wireless sensor networks (WSN). Consequently, one of the major concerns in such networks is energy efficiency (EE) which helps to improve reliability and lifetime of these networks. Many researches have been conducted and some efficient methods have been introduced to increase the EE in WSNs. Low-energy adoptive clustering hierarchy (LAECH) is one of these methods, which can decrease energy consumption of each SN. This paper offers a novel technique of clustering and selecting cluster head (CH) which takes the energy level of SNs and distance between them into consideration. This algorithm improves EE and lifetime of each SN. Simulations prove this claim. Moreover, the proposed protocol has not significant complexity since there is no difficult equation to cause overload, then in term of simplicity this novel protocol is significantly efficient.</p> Mehdi Masoodi, Mohsen Maesoumi, Ehsan Akbari Sekehravani ##submission.copyrightStatement## Sun, 01 Dec 2019 00:00:00 +0000 Modeling the Purchase Intention of the Iranian Brand in the Home Appliance Industry <p>Supporting Iranian goods is not an option for the country, but it is necessary as a way of improving the economic situation and exiting the economic stagnation. Indeed, fostering national brands and using domestic products is considered one of the requirements of development in advanced countries. This research mainly aims to design a model for purchasing domestic products. The study is fundamental-applied research with exploratory mixed methods design. The statistical population in the qualitative part consists of marketing and branding experts. The sample was chosen through purposive sampling and the snowball method. Regarding the data adequacy, 18 experts were selected and interviewed. To test the hypothesis, a sample of 384 consumers of home appliance products, selected by convenience sampling approach, participated in the study. Data was collected through the in-deep interview approach along with a questionnaire consisting of 52 items, and the analysis was conducted through the Grounded Theory and Structural Equation Modeling. The results indicated that the causal condition was to support the national brand (governmental supports and providing the infrastructures of domestic production). The main phenomenon was Resistance Economy (using national capacities and supporting national work and production). Furthermore, the strategy identified for the realization of Resistance Economy was national branding (accrediting the domestic market and boosting the image of Iranian production). The context condition also involved national culture (national identity-making and national values and beliefs) and social-economic factors (social capital, political stability). Two intervening variables were individual characteristics of Iranian customers (customer’s character, attitude toward national brands) and the economic state of the society (economic indicators). The consequence also was the purchase of national brands (preference of domestic brands over foreign brands, loyalty to national brands). On the other hand, the results of structural equations confirmed that Resistance Economy was affected by supporting the national brands. Further, Resistance Economy, along with national culture, economic condition, customers’ characteristics, and political-social conditions of the society, influenced the fortification of national branding. Finally, national branding improves and boosts the purchase intention of Iranian products.</p> Alireza Alikhani, Saeid Sharifi ##submission.copyrightStatement## Sun, 01 Dec 2019 00:00:00 +0000
