This research is devoted to the construction of rotor flux observers and the mechanical speed necessary for the robust control of the induction machine. Two observers are developed and compared. The first observer is based on the MRAS techniques, the second observer is based on KUBOTA with an enhanced DTC-ANN, sensorless DTC artificial intelligence technique. Simulation results have validated the proposed methods. Subsequently, two speed observers are developed and compared. The first speed observer is based on MRAS technique and the second one is based on KUBOTA technique, with an improved DTC-ANN control. Matlab/Simulink software is used to simulate and compare the determined Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of stator current, torque ripple, and stator flux ripple with conventional DTC control scheme.
2019-02-15T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://journals.iaumajlesi.ac.ir/ms/index/index.php/ms/article/view/387 ANFIS Speed Controller of IM Drives with Three-level DTC-based Neural Network 2019-04-14T20:37:46+00:00 Habib Benbouhenni habib0264@gmail.com
Direct torque control (DTC) is a control technique in AC drive systems to obtain high-performance torque control. In this paper, we use a technique based on the neural network and ANFIS controller in order to reduce the torque ripple, stator flux ripple and THD value of stator current in the induction machine (IM). The effect is highlighted by considering the machine controlled by the 24 sectors DTC. In this paper, we propose to replace conventional selector states of switches inverter by a neural selector able to generate the same signals to control this inverter, on the other hand, the classic PI controller of speed is proposed based on Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) controller. Simulation results are presented and show the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.
2019-02-15T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://journals.iaumajlesi.ac.ir/ms/index/index.php/ms/article/view/391 Design Model of Automated Groundnut Threshing Machine 2019-04-14T20:38:55+00:00 Benjamin Bello benburgaper1@gmail.com AJIE TOKAN ajetokan@atbu.edu.ng Danladi Jibril Jiya jibjiya27@gmail.com Abubakar Ibrahim Musa sadikmusa10@gmail.com
The groundnut threshing machine is an automatic device which removes groundnut seeds from their pods by stripping, impact action, and rubbing. In such machine, the main components are; the feeding hopper which contains the unshelled groundnuts, infrared sensor, the threshing unit which comprises of rotating pike (beater) and a fixed concave (screen) with a small gap space for threshing the groundnut, the separation unit which separate the threshed seeds from the chaffs with using a fan, and the collecting unit where the seeds will be stored and convened through a conveyor. An automation programming code in C language has developed and executed in an Arduino Uno which has enabled the automation process of the groundnut thresher, the materials which will be sourced locally. In this technique three motors are used as prime mover for thresher, blower, and conveyor. The performance of the proposed system is evaluated in terms of its throughput capacity, threshing efficiency, and mechanical damage.
2019-02-15T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://journals.iaumajlesi.ac.ir/ms/index/index.php/ms/article/view/393 A Sensorless Control Strategy of a Doubly Fed Induction Machine using an Extended Kalman Filter 2019-04-14T20:40:08+00:00 Tahar Djellouli tahar.djelloulitaha@uha.fr Samir Moulahoum samir.moulahoum@gmail.com Patrice Wira patrice.wira@uha.fr Med Seghir Boucherit ms_boucherit@yahoo.fr
In this paper, a control strategy of a Double Fed Induction Machine (DFIM) is proposed; this method is the most responsive drive in terms of speed variations. In this configuration two voltage inverters connected to the stator and to rotor windings are used which have enabled spreading out the power between the stator and the rotor thanks to their distribution and pulsation in motor operation mode. In this research, a Field Oriented Control (FOC) strategy is used in the DFIM to regulate the speed without a mechanical sensor. Subsequently, an Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) is designed to estimate the DFIM speed real-time and to replace with the sensor. Finally, the proposed sensorless control strategy is validated by using simulation tests and compared to the FOC based on a speed sensor. The results have shown the sensorless FOC strategy could improve the control robustness and system’s performance in case of a fault.
2019-02-15T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://journals.iaumajlesi.ac.ir/ms/index/index.php/ms/article/view/392 A Review of Recent Advancements in Flux Reversal Permanent Magnet Machine (FRPMM) 2019-04-14T20:41:08+00:00 Manne Bharathi bharathi.manne1994@gmail.com
The flux reversal permanent magnet machine (FRPMM) is a novel brushless double-salient permanent-magnet machine with a winding less rotor, in which phase flux polarities are reversed in the stator concentrated coils for each electrical cycle of rotor displacement. In this concept, the qualitative comparisons are made between the FRM with different varieties of brushless machines, especially a switched reluctance machine based on Flux-MMF diagram technique. This description gives the all-inclusive review of improvements of several electrical machines for adoption to renewable energy harvesting, disclose all equivalent limitations along with research favorable circumstances. Various design strategies including the magnet arrangement and winding techniques are adopted to increase the performance of FRPM. In this study results of recent contributions are discussed and analyzed.
2019-02-15T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://journals.iaumajlesi.ac.ir/ms/index/index.php/ms/article/view/395 Predictive Control of Inductor Supplied by High Frequency Inverter for Induction Heating Application 2019-04-14T20:43:58+00:00 Azzedine Khati a.khati@univ-chlef.dz Abdelkader Kansab a.kansab@univ-chlef.dz Rachid Taleb rac.taleb@gmail.com Houari Khouidmi houarikhouidmi@yahoo.fr
Induction heating depends on several independent parameters such as the supplied energy, the heating time, the geometry of the piece to be heated, and the frequency of power supply. This latter strictly affects the variation of the power which depends directly on both the square of the current induced in the load and on the frequency. For this purpose, the supply of induction heaters needs to use high frequency converters as a suitable solution. The control of the inductor’s current requires development of advanced control techniques to ensure an acceptable precise regulation, with high efficiency and speed. In this research, a mathematical model of induction heating is represented with using the assembly (inductor-load), followed by the scheme of the chosen HT inverter, where, resonance is applied by a compensation capacitor in series with the load. Subsequently, the adapted predictive control laws are synthesized in order to control the current of the inductor, consequently, the power supplied to induction heating. The results of the simulation have shown the effectiveness of the control strategy.
2019-03-13T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement##
